Proactive Measures to Deter Rural Crime

Humberside Rural Task Force (pictured) are hosting a selection of forensic marking events in order to tackle the growing effects of rural crime, with over a million pounds worth of agricultural equipment already marked.

These forensic marking events were hosted with the help of the local Cadet group and aimed to mark agricultural equipment, trailers and all-terrain vehicles.

Across a series of events held by the Rural Task Force, they were able to mark over £1.4 million worth of agricultural equipment. The team deployed SelectaDNA’s Rural Crime Forensic Property Marking Kits, as well as visible warning signage to alert any thieves that this property is marked.

Humberside Police are hoping to continue this partnership with SelectaDNA, and are “Committed to reducing rural crime through enhanced rural crime prevention initiatives.”
